Who I Am

My website address is: https://realtimetraveller.com/.

I highly appreciate your interest in visiting my travel blog and I would like to reassure you that, here at Real-Time Traveller, the protection of your Personal Data is of utmost importance. Your Personal Data will be therefore collected and used in full compliance with all applicable data protection regulations.

Please take some time to go through the content of this Privacy Policy, so as to familiarize yourself with some terms and procedures you might have not been aware of.

What is Personal Data

Personal data (also “Personally identifiable information”) includes all kinds of individual information by which you as a natural person are or can be identified by, e.g. your name, email address, as well as information which does not directly reveal your name, but relates to you or your device and enables you to be treated individually.

Non-personally identifiable data is information that cannot be connected to your real identity, e.g. the number of users visiting my blog or any other kind of aggregated information.

What Personal Data I Might Collect and Why I Collect It

Contact Form / Newsletter Subscription

You will only be asked to voluntarily provide your name and email address when sending a Personal Message through the “Contact Me” Form or for the needs of a Newsletter Subscription.

Your personal information will then be used strictly for fulfilling the purpose of the kind of interaction you wish to build with my website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit my login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to record information about the pages a user has visited, for example the URL of the page, time of day, device used, etc. The information that I collect is anonymized and sent to Google Analytics for analysis.

Google Analytics mainly use first-party cookies to report on visitor interactions on this website. Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookie.

In addition, Google Analytics supports an optional browser add-on that -once installed and enabled- disables measurements by Google Analytics for any site a user visits. You can opt to use this add-on and disable all Google Analytics measurements.

Google Analytics also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide and protect the security of the service, and to give website owners a sense of which country, state, or city in the world their users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”).

Who I Share your Data With

Your personal data (name, email) is not disclosed with any third party.

How Long I Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that subscribe for my Newsletter, I will also store their personal information (name, email) indefinitely, unless they opt to unsubscribe from my mailing list at any time.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have subscribed on my website, or have left comments, you can request to unsubscribe or have your personal data erased.

Where Do I Send Your Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How I Protect Your Data

I have implemented a variety of security measures to maintain my travel blog secure and encrypted at all times.

Changes of this Policy

I might need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time to better reflect changes to information practices.

In the case of major changes, an email will be sent to all subscribers prior to the change becoming effective. This will give you the chance to ask for deletion of your private data and/or unsubscribe from my mailing list. If no objection is raised after those changes are in effect, this signifies your continuing consent to the revised Privacy Policy.

I also encourage you to frequently review this page to stay up-to-date on changes that may affect you.
